Year in and year out, our Kenefick Ranch Cabernet is bold, layered and embraces new world style Napa Valley Cabernet while retaining that ‘Mike Smith’ purity and freshness. Seamless, silky and polished, the finish makes this wine hard to put down, but then again, who wants too.
Palate Impressions
Dark ruby in color, full in body and a nose of plum, big blue fruits, lavender and baking spices. Rich and concentrated yet still open and lively, the mid palate is bursting with blueberry pie, mocha, gravel, and cigar box, carrying hints of cocoa, vanilla bean and graham from barrel integration.

A stone's throw from the famed Eisele Vineyard, Kenefick Ranch is nestled on the Western slopes of the Palisades Mountain Range in North Napa Valley, where natural beauty abounds and inspiration prevails. This bench land beauty has the ability to ripen any varietal earlier than most parts of Napa Valley. The attention to detail in the vineyard is without compare. We are even known to fine tune our picks to the point of harvesting the sunny side of the vine weeks before the shaded. Quivet produces both Cabernet and Syrah from the premium block on the most Eastern slopes of the vineyard. Excellent drainage, rocky soils, warm Calistoga days and cool nights bless this site with rich, boastful grapes that fill our wines with stunning blue fruits yet compliment them with polished structure.
